Fresh CLip

'Fresh Clip' is a visual story depicting the relationship and trust shared between humans cut from the same cloth. This series featuring Tiara Webb and her late grandfather Charles Thomas aka "Mouse" shows an intimate view of their sacred relationship. Mouse, a well-known taxi driver, was as hard as a rock to everyone who knew him. Often described as a man of few words who barely cracked a smile. Mouse had a soft spot for his granddaughter Tiara and her for him, which was apparent to anyone with eyes. The only one who could make him crack a smile. Charles was Tiara's entire world and she was his. When Covid hit, and Charles got sick, Tiara learned how to cut her grandfather's hair, and this became a sacred ritual between them right up until his passing in May of 2022. Tiara gave her special human his last and final haircut as he was being prepared for his homegoing service.

I cannot express how grateful I am to have known Mr. Thomas and to have captured these images of my soul sister and her papa. I have had the pleasure of knowing Tiara since about 2001, and even back then, the bond they shared was apparent. All the kids knew the white taxi sitting in the yard after school was Tiaras Papa and it seemed like he never missed a day. To the Loyal Hill legend the world knew as Charles, thank you for the man you were and for raising my friend up to be the amazing, woman she is. Thank you for your contribution to this world. Thank you for never leaving her side, and being her safe space as she went through life's up and downs. You are tremendously missed.
